Longing

Your divinity I have understood when I longed so impatiently for you,
As if everything has happened that day,
The better part of my age has passed and all is yet new.
I had spent my days finding ways to come near to you.
Nights had schemed scandalously for our separation,
When my eyes’ cups were filled of my life full of you.

Seeds that were sown in our childhood have grown and flowered
Barren space of my heart has waited several seasons for you, shine or shower
Alas, now no more I can shield it from the wanton storm to get it uprooted
And I know now, in this life even the sight of your untouched shadow is not fated.
